Changes: Me, myself and The Pearl Mic

OK, OK, OK, Pearl Mic’ers, I know it’s been a minute, but as usual, I’ve been reevaluating my life, my purpose, my existence. I have been ruminating, planning and working on my life’s goals so much that I have not been devoting as much time to music blogging as I should. Honestly, instead of hitting up a concert or scouring for the latest video, I’d rather hang out with my 4-year-old niece (I learn from her every time we hang out), check out a cool restaurant with my mom or indulge in late night chats about God with my twin sister.

I love music, and always will, however, my priorities are constantly changing and rearranging. I am not the same woman that I was last week, last month, last year. I don’t want to spend another year wondering where time went and have nothing to show for it. I really don’t have time to waste. So, for the 400th time it seems, I have to hit the reset button. My priorities at this time is building a more positive relationship with God and with myself, nixing negative relationships, living a cleaner lifestyle (eating and exercising), travelling, and communicating in an effective way – verbal and non-verbal.

My blog has been and will always be about uplifting women. However, I need to uplift myself. So, Pearl Mic’ers, with that “said”, this blog will change; it will no longer be just about music. I am going to document the adventures of my life. Right now, I’d like to build my writing career, get out of debt, put myself back out in the dating world, unify my family, and dissolve old emotional roadblocks. With those aspects of my life being my priority, I can’t focus on what so-and-so wore to the awards show or who is dating whom. I want to focus on myself for a while and bring out the creative person that is lying dormant inside me. If I expect to attract the best, I need to be the best. If I am not my best, I will not succeed in any area of my life, mentally, physically, spiritually and financially. I am not working on being perfect. I am working on being the best me that I can be.

I will still share my discussion with extraordinary ladies and fellas here, but the focus will be about personal growth, happiness, and of course love. If you want to stick around for the ride, feel free. If not, I love you anyway.

Sit tight and enjoy the ride. Vroom, vroom!
